spring summer couture

{Elie Saab}

{Jean Paul Gaultier}

{Mason Martin Margiela}

{Ralph & Russo}

{Ulyana Sergeenko}

{Valentino}

{Versace}

{Zuhair Murad}

{Dior}

I've always been infatuated with couture opposed to the ready to wear lines. The couture pieces are such a beautiful form of art, and they are what comes to influence everything else in the fashion universe. Here are some of my favorite picks from the spring/ summer shows thus far.

The asymmetric looks in Gaultier's show were done in such an interesting way that was distinct from every other asymmetric look I've seen before. Dior, as always, found ways to incorporate delicate details in every piece; it's all fit for royalty. Elie Saab, Margiela, and Valentino had dark dramatic pieces, which I'm always drawn to. I was so inspired by the beauty in Ralph & Russo and Zuhair Murad's collections that I'm starting the search for a similarly themed prom dress.

I'm looking forward to blending the pale pinks, light florals, dramatic cuts, and monochromatic trends into my own outfits as the weather gets warmer! Right now I'm just holding on to any hope that the days will be nice again instead of below freezing and ugly, so this has been a welcome distraction and glimpse into spring.
